    1. WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide is a non-selective glyphosate herbicide for controlling many annual and perennial weeds, including most varieties of grasses.
    2. WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide is a non-selective herbicide.  Do not spray onto plants you want to keep, as severe damage or death is likely.
    3. The general mixing rate for WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide is 5 – 7 mL per 1L of Water.  If you are targeting a specific weed, refer to the directions of use (supplied with the product and available via the Specialist Sales Website).  Mixing at recommended rates will ensure a good kill, and exceeding these rates is unnecessary unless specified on the label.
    4. WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide does not offer any residual protection against weeds regerminating.  Depending on many factors, such as the weed seed levels in the soil and the season, weeds may germinate in a matter of weeks.
    5. WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide will kill turf grasses, including Buffalo Turf.  It is a non-selective herbicide.
  2. What is the mixing ratio of WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide for killing stinging nettles?

  3. Q What is the mixing ratio of WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide for killing stinging nettles?
Asked by Brian on November 7, 2022 6:20 pm
    Answered by the admin

WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide does not explicitly list Stinging Nettle as a susceptible weed controlled.  The general rate for WeedPro 540 Bio Herbicide is 7 mL per litre of water which may be worth a try to test the effectiveness.  If not successful, herbicides such as 24D LV Ester 680 or Dicamba 500g/L or 750g/L would be recommended.

  4. Can this be sprayed onto buffalo grass to kill weeds throughout without affecting the buffalo grass.
  5. Q Can this be sprayed onto buffalo grass to kill weeds throughout without affecting the buffalo grass.
Asked by Steve on November 29, 2021 10:42 am
    Answered by the admin

Do not apply WeedPro 540 Herbicide to Buffalo Grass/Turf.  WeedPro is made from Glyphosate, which is non-selective, meaning it will kill the weeds in your lawn as well as the buffalo.  We would suggest you look at a product such as Surefire Buffalo, Bindi & Broadleaf Weedkiller, specifically for use in buffalo grass.

  6. can you tell me how long after using Weed Pro before pets can go near sprayed area of a patio?
  7. Q can you tell me how long after using Weed Pro before pets can go near sprayed area of a patio?
Asked by Brian Withers on November 1, 2021 11:05 am
    Answered by the admin

Pets may be at risk if they touch or eat plants that are still wet with spray from products containing glyphosate.  The best practice in a domestic situation for pets is to remove them while the spray is wet, however, once it has dried then they are fine to return to the area.

Tips For Use

General Instructions:

  • WeedPro 540 Herbicide is a non-volatile, non-selective, water-soluble liquid herbicide for the control of annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds in a wide range of agricultural and non-agricultural use situations.
  • WeedPro 540 Herbicide may be used for weed control on agricultural land prior to sowing any edible or non-edible crop but not prior to transplanting tomato seedlings.
  • When applying this product prior to transplanting crops into plastic mulch, care must be taken to remove residues of this product from the plastic prior to transplanting.
  • Residues can be removed by 2 cm of natural rainfall or by applying water via a sprinkler irrigation system.
  • WeedPro 540 Herbicide is absorbed by plant foliage and green stems. It is inactivated in the soil and does not provide residual weed control.  WeedPro 540 Herbicide moves through the plant from the point of contact to and into the root system. Initial visible effects on annual weeds take 3 – 7 days but may not be noticeable for 2 to 3 weeks under cool cloudy conditions or on some perennial weeds

Surfactant:

  • The addition of a surfactant may improve weed control where water rates are high or product rates are low.
  • Suggested surfactant rates are 200 mL/100 L of 1000 g/L high-quality non-ionic surfactant or 250-500 mL/100 L of 700 g/L high-quality non-ionic surfactant.
  • Do not add spraying oils, agricultural chemicals or any other material except as directed on the label.
  • When applying Surefire WeedPro 540 for control of aquatic weeds, use only high-quality non-ionic surfactants products that are approved for use in aquatic situations (ie Nemo Aquatic Surfactant).

Mixing Instructions:

  1. Fill the spray tank 1/3 to ½ full with clean water and start agitation.
  2. Where ammonium sulphate is recommended, add Apparent Ammonium Sulphate at 800 g/100 L spray solution and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add recommended herbicide/insecticide/additive to the spray tank and mix thoroughly.
  4. Add WeedPro 540 Herbicide and the remaining water. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Add surfactant, if required, near the end of the filling process to minimise foaming.
  6. Always maintain adequate agitation during application and use the tank mix promptly.

Clean all equipment after use by washing thoroughly with clean water.
